"Feelings of a Genocide"
For my final project, I wanted to bring to life an event in history that many do not know a lot about, The Holocaust. Reading about an event or simply seeing items in a museum, does not bring a real connection to the event. As a Jewish woman, I want my project to have an emotional impact on you, the viewer. Being able to touch and interact with items can help stimulate feelings and emotions more than just viewing an item behind glass. I use textures, physical items, and imagery to bring feelings and emotions to an event in history that you might not otherwise feel connected to. Each item was either made or thrifted to suit each real story from The Holocaust.
All stories are real and can be explored in further detail at www.ushmm.org. Unfortunately, due to certain issues and our exhibition being moved to a virtual space, you cannot physically interact with my project as I had originally intended. You are more than welcome to contact me with questions or concerns.
