"Same But Different"

Same But Different is a A3 size Poster Book that aims to express the lives of Korean-Americans in the perspective of a child, Byul, and her companion, Moon. The illustrations express similar but differing qualities of the two cultures that we encounter. This project was inspired by working with young children at a Korean school most of my life and observing the struggles and joy that I and the children have experienced as being multi-cultural. I wanted to share the stories of me and those children and allow not only children but also adults to become immersed in our unique culture and compare the stories to their own.
